{"id":9749,"date":"2018-03-01T15:40:29","date_gmt":"2018-03-01T15:40:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/?p=9749\/"},"modified":"2018-03-01T16:17:31","modified_gmt":"2018-03-01T16:17:31","slug":"lp-consumo2-demanda-caracteristicas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/lp-consumo2-demanda-caracteristicas\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumo II: Demanda de caracter\u00edsticas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La teori\u0301a de la demanda de caracteri\u0301sticas establece que los consumidores obtienen la utilidad no de los contenidos de la cesta de bienes, sino de las caracteri\u0301sticas de los <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/bienes\/\">bienes<\/a><\/em><\/span> que se encuentran en ella. Esta teori\u0301a fue desarrollada por Kelvin Lancaster en 1966 en su arti\u0301culo \u201cA New Approach to Consumer Theory\u201d (Una nuevo enfoque a la teori\u0301a del consumidor).<\/p>\n<p>Este enfoque nos permite predecir co\u0301mo las <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/preferencias\/\">preferencias<\/a><\/em><\/span> cambiara\u0301n cuando cambiemos las opciones o cestas presentadas a los consumidores mediante el estudio de co\u0301mo cambian en funcio\u0301n de los cambios en las caracteri\u0301sticas presentes en los bienes. En la teori\u0301a convencional, la introduccio\u0301n de una nueva opcio\u0301n implica que no podemos predecir con seguridad co\u0301mo podri\u0301a encajar en el mapa de preferencias del consumidor. Sin embargo, basa\u0301ndonos en un estudio de las caracteri\u0301sticas ma\u0301s que en los bienes o servicios impli\u0301citos, podemos predecir co\u0301mo los cambios afectara\u0301n al comportamiento del consumidor sin necesidad de empezar otro proceso empi\u0301rico.<br \/>\n\ufffc\ufffc\ufffc<br \/>\nEsto nos permite calcular \u2018precios sombra\u2019 para diferentes atributos, sin tener un precio para el bien en si\u0301, asociando la utilidad a las caracteri\u0301sticas que conforman el bien, ma\u0301s que al bien en si\u0301. Las marcas de lujo son capaces de fijar un precio mayor para sus productos diferencia\u0301ndose de competidores que vendan bienes similares. En el primer gra\u0301fico, si suponemos que ambas marcas tienen las mismas caracteri\u0301sticas (o atributos) y son competidores, elegiremos la cesta que maximice nuestro consumo total. Esto significa que tenderemos a optar a la marca ma\u0301s barata, lo que nos permite alcanzar la curva de utilidad ma\u0301s alta: para una cantidad dada de dinero, somos capaces de comprar tanto una cierta cantidad de la marca 1 (punto B), como una cierta cantidad de la marca 2 (punto A). Elegiremos A al estar en una curva de indiferencia ma\u0301s alta. El punto C representa una curva de utilidad mayor alcanzada debido a una bajada de precio de la marca 1. Sin embargo, aunque la marca 1 se haya vuelto ma\u0301s barata, seguiremos consumiendo A, ya que sigue estando en una curva de indiferencia ma\u0301s alta.<\/p>\n<p>En el segundo gra\u0301fico, si analizamos la demanda de Lancaster, nuestras funciones de utilidad estara\u0301n basadas en los atributos que cada cesta contenga ma\u0301s que en la cantidad de cada tipo de bien. Aqui\u0301 ya no es \u201ctodo o nada\u201d \u2013 podemos optar por curvas de demanda convexas que representen nuestras preferencias por la variedad en el consumo: el punto C.
