Adema\u0301s, una de las hipo\u0301tesis del <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/duopolio-cournot\/\">modelo de duopolio de Cournot<\/a><\/em><\/span> afirma que las empresas ofertara\u0301n un producto homoge\u0301neo. Teniendo en cuenta esto, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/joseph-bertrand\/\">Bertrand<\/a><\/em><\/span>propone una alternativa a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/antoine-cournot\/\">Cournot<\/a><\/em>.<\/span> Si consideramos el modelo de Bertrand desde una perspectiva de la <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/teoria-juegos\/\">teori\u0301a de juegos<\/a><\/em><\/span>, se puede analizar como un <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/juego-simultaneo\/\">juego simulta\u0301neo<\/a><\/em><\/span> donde la eleccio\u0301n estrate\u0301gica se basa en el precio en vez de la cantidad.<\/p>\n<p>En este modelo los consumidores comprara\u0301n los bienes de la empresa que ofrezca el precio ma\u0301s bajo. De esto se puede intuir que el <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/equilibrio-nash\/\">equilibrio de Nash<\/a><\/em><\/span> sera\u0301 aquel en el que ambas empresas fijan el mismo precio.<br \/>\nSi asumimos <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/analisis-costes\/\">funciones de coste<\/a><\/em><\/span> iguales y constantes, la demanda para cada empresa queda definida con la siguiente formula:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/formula-es-duopolio-Bertrand-demandas.png\" rel=\"lightbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5694\" src=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/formula-es-duopolio-Bertrand-demandas-300x138.png\" alt=\"Formula - Duopolio de Bertrand - Demandas\" width=\"196\" height=\"90\" srcset=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/formula-es-duopolio-Bertrand-demandas-300x138.png 300w, https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/formula-es-duopolio-Bertrand-demandas-768x352.png 768w, https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/formula-es-duopolio-Bertrand-demandas-600x275.png 600w, https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/formula-es-duopolio-Bertrand-demandas-560x257.png 560w, https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/formula-es-duopolio-Bertrand-demandas.png 935w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 196px) 100vw, 196px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>El equilibrio de Bertrand ocurre cuando <em>P1=P2=CM<\/em>, siendo <em>CM<\/em> el <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/coste-medio-marginal\/\">coste marginal<\/a><\/em><\/span>, dando el mismo resultado que bajo <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/competencia-perfecta\/\">competencia perfecta<\/a><\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>La lo\u0301gica es simple: si el precio de ambas empresas es igual pero el coste marginal es menor, existira\u0301 un incentivo por parte de ambas empresas a disminuir el precio y hacerse con el mercado. Por ello, el u\u0301nico equilibrio en el que ninguna de las empresas estara\u0301 tentada a desviarse sera\u0301 aquel equilibrio en el que el precio sea igual al coste marginal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Duopolio-de-Bertrand.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3665\" src=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Duopolio-de-Bertrand-300x291.jpg\" alt=\"Duopolio de Bertrand\" width=\"310\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Duopolio-de-Bertrand-300x291.jpg 300w, https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Duopolio-de-Bertrand-560x542.jpg 560w, https:\/\/policonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Duopolio-de-Bertrand.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 310px) 100vw, 310px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>El resultado del modelo implica una paradoja, conocida como la paradoja de Bertrand: en el caso de <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/competencia-imperfecta\/\">competencia imperfecta<\/a><\/em><\/span> (aqui\u0301, un duopolio), donde existe un fuerte incentivo a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/colusion\/\">coludir<\/a><\/em><\/span>, terminamos con el mismo resultado que en competencia perfecta. El equilibrio no se sostiene con funciones asime\u0301tricas debido a que la empresa con costes marginales menores se hara\u0301 con todo el mercado, convirtie\u0301ndose asi\u0301 en un <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/monopolio\/\">monopolio<\/a><\/em><\/span>. Un gran ana\u0301lisis de esta paradoja, conocido como el <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/duopolio-edgeworth\/\">modelo de duopolio de Edgeworth<\/a><\/span>\u00a0<\/em>o duopolio Bertrand-Edgeworth, fue desarrollado por <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em><a href=\"https:\/\/policonomics.com\/es\/francis-ysidro-edgeworth\/\">Francis Y.
